Travel by boat to Flåm, then by train to Voss via Myrdal, up the dramatic Flåm Railway. From Voss, return by bus to Vangsnes, over the Vikafjell pass.

From Vangsnes take the ferry to Dragsvik, then a bus for the last 9 km to Balestrand. If desired, the tour can be shortened by taking the return rail trip from Myrdal to Flåm, returning to Balestrand by boat.
